Nautical history : Spanish-English, History of the Glenlee, Tall Ship Museum, Scotland

At the Glenlee, The Tall Ship Museum, Glasgow, UK, I wrote a history of the ex-merchant navy turned Spanish armada training ship. For my research, I translated antique Spanish archives; a collection of accounts by former Spanish apprentices; I interviewed the youngest sailor ever to serve on the ship, now a delightful and voluble old seadog; and sifted through mounds of anecdotes, legends and ghost stories about the 145ft three-masted barque which made it round notorious mariners’ graveyard, the Chilean Cape Horn, no fewer than five times.
